It is important that any asbestos discovered at the workplace be identified
by way of appropriate asbestos signage.
It is required under section 8 of the asbestos Code of Practice that
any areas of a workplace which contain ACM, including plant, equipment
and components, should be signposted with warning signs to ensure that
the asbestos is not unknowingly disturbed without the correct precautions
being taken.
This can be accomplished by engaging ABSCAN to supply and install the
appropriate signs and labels. Our labels are shown below. Please contact
us on 1800 105 244 to ensure your compliance with this
legislative requirement.
- Metal Signs (40x30cm): These metal signs are used on the
exterior of a building primarily at the entrance of the property to
advise that asbestos is present and a register is located at reception.
- PVC Signs (A4): Where metal signs are not necessary, the
PVC sign can be placed to the front entrance window of the property/business.
Contact details can also be nominated if required.
- Large Labels (18x13cm): These self-adhesive labels are normally
used to identify asbestos on detached buildings or outbuildings at the
property. Contact details can also be nominated if required.
- Small Labels (12x5cm): These self-adhesive labels are the
most important and are affixed to the actual areas where ACM has been
discovered.
