Whilst conducting our comprehensive asbestos audits, Abscan can also just analyse suspect materials for residents who may be concerned with asbestos in their homes.
During our audits, Abscan
ensures the appropriate information of samples taken at the property is recorded such as the name and location of the sampled material, date of sampling and registration identification number.
It is vital that all samples are securely packaged for transport to the appropriate NATA accredited laboratory for testing e.g. cliplock bags in padded envelopes.
Samples will be analysed by polarising light microscopy in conjunction with dispersion staining.
NOTE: Suspect materials should be deemed to contain asbestos unless analysis results prove the absence of asbestos.
